Key Resources
Creating a 3D image
Try creating a 3D image from an aspect of your project to display your creativity. This is also an opportunity to show your ideas instead of merely describing them.
Try sites like Tinkercad where you can create your very own 3D image to share with others or to later print a final product. Scanning 3D objects |
Add a high resolution 3D image of an object to your presentation, document, or website using the Sprout in MavericksMake makerspace.
Looking to recreate an object? The library's makerspace also has the Makerbot Digitizer that can take 3D scans. Both options allow patrons to 3D print the scan taken, as well as, sharing the 3D image in your presentation of choice. |
Using open source 3D images
Everyday, museum archives, science models and user created 3D images are made available for the public to download for free. Find these images in places like Sketchfab or Thingiverse.
These 3D repositories also allow users to upload their personal 3D creations for other users to download, manipulate and reproduce. |
For more information, tutorials and examples on 3D image creation and printing, view the LSC-Montgomery Library 3D Fabrication LibGuide.
